GR3, which was first released in April 2019, is a symbol of Ricoh cameras and a traditional lineup at the top of snap cameras. Since my film camera days, I have been very satisfied with high-performance 28mm snap cameras that fit in my pocket with the GR1s and GR1v, so I remember feeling that the change in small size from GR2 to GR3 had meant that a truly high-quality snap camera had arrived.
At the time of launch, we had designs about cases for GR1 and 2, but the customer who was supposed to entrust us with GR3 failed to purchase, so we missed the timing and were unable to develop the case, and promised the next model. Strangely, a new model is released every year on the GR3 platform. When I saw this, I felt puzzled. It turns out that, for some reason, the GR3 is still very popular, and the stock is being sold in such large quantities that it is immediately sold out, and there has not yet been a camera that can replace it.
I'm mostly familiar with flagships and popular models from quite a few different brands, but even at first glance, it's hard to think of a small camera that produces results like this.
Five years after it was first released, we received an official accessory collaboration offer from Segi P&C, the official source of income for Ricoh cameras in South Korea. We received support for the device and tried it out ourselves, leading to a more self-interested design.

In digital, I didn't trust the results of the P&S model, so I touched the small body for the first time in a while and it felt a bit jerky due to the size, but just being able to put the camera in my pocket and go out on the street gave me a sense of freedom that I hadn't felt in a long time. I didn't know what to do. :)
For a while, I stopped holding a camera and took pictures with my cell phone, but as someone who has always been involved with photography, I always felt very disappointed.
If you enjoy taking photos with a camera rather than taking photos with an iPhone - I think the GR3, which fits comfortably in your pocket, is a meaningful model in itself.
Perhaps because they felt that this was almost complete, Ricoh is also replacing the successor model by releasing various editions based on the GR3 platform.
It is a strange but still lovely model where used products are still the same price as new products, new products are sold out, and are distributed at a premium price in the market.
The thickness was reduced by about 20% compared to the average recipe.
During the collaboration, we were asked to provide the following request through a meeting with Segi P&C, the official importer of Ricoh cameras in Korea.

I don't easily overlook small details if I think they're necessary. Even if it is a bend that becomes cumbersome in actual production. :)

Originally, during a collaboration-related meeting, this button was judged to be of low usability and was requested to simply hide it. However, when I actually used it, it was less frequent, but there was something to be desired when switching videos, so I looked for a way to add functions while maintaining the agreed-upon design. suggested. In the end, we modified the entire case work recipe and carried out additional work so that the buttons inside could be pressed by pressing the outside of the case at the corresponding location through internal work.
Once you use it a few times, you will be able to easily find where it is. ;)

Fitting,
Fitting is where Arte di Mano's work is significantly different from other global brands. We spend an incomparable amount of time to ensure a perfect fit, matching each and every shape of the body.
Basically, in the case of GR3, it has streamlined lines in the top and bottom directions, so it has structural difficulties that make it impossible to achieve a perfect fit in a two-dimensional approach using flat materials.
Generally, in this case, the height of the top is adjusted to the level of the most protruding part, but in the case of GR, it protrudes the most at the middle height, so if the line is cut here, the case will be too low, and the level of completeness in terms of protection and design will be very low.
As a result, we compensate for this with fittings. Due to the difficulty of fitting, it takes a considerably longer time compared to other models.
Although it is difficult to completely overcome structural limitations, we have put in enough time and effort to come up with a recipe to promise a fitting that has never been seen anywhere else in the world, at least for cases of the same height. :)

Originally, during a collaboration-related meeting, this button was judged to be of low usability and was requested to simply hide it. However, when I actually used it, it was less frequent, but there was something to be desired when switching videos, so I looked for a way to add functions while maintaining the agreed-upon design. suggested. In the end, we modified the entire case work recipe and carried out additional work so that the buttons inside could be pressed by pressing the outside of the case at the corresponding location through internal work.
Once you use it a few times, you will be able to easily find where it is. ;)

Fitting,
Fitting is where Arte di Mano's work is significantly different from other global brands. We spend an incomparable amount of time to ensure a perfect fit, matching each and every shape of the body.
Basically, in the case of GR3, it has streamlined lines in the top and bottom directions, so it has structural difficulties that make it impossible to achieve a perfect fit in a two-dimensional approach using flat materials.
Generally, in this case, the height of the top is adjusted to the level of the most protruding part, but in the case of GR, it protrudes the most at the middle height, so if the line is cut here, the case will be too low, and the level of completeness in terms of protection and design will be very low.
As a result, we compensate for this with fittings. Due to the difficulty of fitting, it takes a considerably longer time compared to other models.
Although it is difficult to completely overcome structural limitations, we have put in enough time and effort to come up with a recipe to promise a fitting that has never been seen anywhere else in the world, at least for cases of the same height. :)
